I'm a third-year journalism major with a minor in entrepreneurship at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and am originally from the Bay Area. Growing up, I fell in love with sports, and my brothers and I would constantly be playing, watching or talking about sports. At a very young age, the three of us started playing baseball and that's what we stuck with. Although my baseball career ended, my passion for sports did not. Journalism has allowed me to combine my curiosity for the world, love for people and passion for sports all into one. They have a fantastic way of bringing people together and being able to cover players, coaches and teams gives me the opportunity to combine my curiosity for people and sports into one.
As a journalism major at Cal Poly, I have been introduced to many different sports through my three years along with multiple kinds of content creation. At the beginning of my second year, I joined the Mustang News sports team and have been able to develop my writing and video skills. Through the sports team, I have been able to cover Cal Poly women's soccer, men's soccer, baseball, softball, cross country, wrestling, tennis and various others. During my third year, I was able to get the opportunity to do PxP and color broadcasting for men's and women's soccer and women's basketball for Cal Poly. I also intern for a local radio station in San Luis Obispo, the CJ Silas Show, learning the ins and outs of radio hosting and production.
